Top 5 Reasons to Trade in your 3-Year Old Vehicle

Remember that new car smell and feel while driving your new vehicle off the dealership lot to take it home? No? Well then maybe it’s time to consider selling your 3 year old vehicle back to the Dealership.
Top 5 Reason to Sell your 3-Year old Vehicle Back to the Dealership

1. Back Under Factory Warranty
Give yourself peace of mind while owning a vehicle that is back under a factory warranty.  After 3 years or 36,000 miles, most vehicles are no longer covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.  As you approach 55,000 to 65,000 miles, typical wear and tear items need to be replaced such as brakes, tires, and various engine parts.

2. New Vehicle & Technology Upgrades
Technology is constantly improving. To compare to another constantly improving item, on average a person keeps a cell phone about 18 months until upgrading to something newer. By the time they upgrade, the old cell phone might be one or two generations behind the newest model of the phone they are purchasing.  In newer vehicles, technology and overall vehicle upgrades are constantly changing to become more advanced.

3. Dealerships WANT your vehicle
Dealerships want and need vehicles that are 3-5 years old.  The used car market is stronger now than it has been in many years. Dealerships are offering top dollar and more than market value for good quality used vehicles especially for returning customers who are bring back vehicles purchased and serviced at the dealership.

4. Get the Most Value Out of your Trade
If you are holding on to a vehicle that is 3-4 years old, it is at its peak of value.  Most of the time when customers finance vehicles, after 3-4 years of making payments the vehicle has more equity than what is still owed.  By selling it back to the dealership, customers are able to pay off the lien on the current vehicle and have some equity going into a newer model.

5. Get a Lower Interest Rate
Interest rates for financing are at an all-time low.  If the dealership is not offering 0% financing and if nothing major has happened to your credit since you purchased your last vehicle, chances of getting a low interest rate are very good!
